Standard & Line Pipe

Line pipe is a type of butt-welded (occasionally threaded and coupled) pipeline that was largely made of non-alloy steel as per API 5L worldwide, and used to convey crude oil, petroleum products, natural gas and water. It’s the major tubular string for transport when tubing and casing are driven downhole for exploitation of non-renewable energy resources.

The standard black steel round pipe complied with ASTM A53 grade B (see the pricing) or high temperature servicing pipe conforming to ASTM A106 grade B are also commonly ordered as line pipe because of their close compositions, properties and manufacturing route to API 5L grade B, which is the most frequently used carbon steel grade in the globe.

Tetristeel offers seamless (hot rolled / cold drawn) and welded (ERW (HFW) / SAWL (LSAW) / SAWH (SSAW) / GMAW (MIG) / GTAW (TIG) / PAW) standard & line pipe with a wide range of diameters from NPS 1/2 to 80 (21.3 mm to 2032 mm). Bare pipes other than stainless steel are rust proof black painted or varnished and all the delivered pipes will be seaworthy packaged for transportation.

For improved corrosive resistance, our coated, cladded & lined pipe with specific external and internal coatings, e.g. 3LPE, 3LPP, FBE, PU (PUR), etc., and CRA clad / lined pipe meeting API 5LD are economical measures of surface protection.

When substrate steel has to be exposed to corrosive medium, H₂S-containing sour service or offshore environment, appropriate API 5LC CRA line pipe, NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 / API 5L Annex H or API 5L Annex J compliant pipes shall be selected respectively.
